The school program consists of 3 learning cycles (stages). Each stage includes two or more grades :
Stage I : Preschool (3 - 4 years old)
Each stage corresponds to specific learning requirements (academic, social, artistic, self-awareness), which are recorded in the pupil’s evaluation file.
In the first and third school terms, parents, pupil and the teacher meet to evaluate pupil progress and development. This way, each party can express their views on progress, difficulties and expectations.
Currently, there are 11 classes at La Découverte with a maximum of 17/18 pupils per class.
All teachers are specifically trained for this type of educational program and some classrooms will have a teaching assistant.
Refresher courses and permanent research into educational methodology reinforce the team teaching approach which is vital to the school’s unique approach to learning.
